DUST SWEAT AND DISPLACEMENT
The Zeytinburnu coastline hosts an unusually large crowd on weekends. Young people from a geography stretching from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan gather on the grass to practice their national sport, Kurash. Beneath the shadow of the modern city, wearing their traditional jackets and stepping onto the wrestling ground, these youths keep their ancestral rituals alive in the heart of Istanbul.
This series focuses on the stories of people who, amid migration and the transition to settled life, wear their cultural heritage like a suit of armor.
